5 BOOKS EVERY GIRL BOSS MUST READ!

9:00 AM, by Karina Michelle

#Girlboss, coined by Sophia Amorouso, "A woman in control, taking charge of her own circumstances in work & life. Someone who knows her worth and won't accept anything less. She is not a "mean girl" in fact, she hates "mean girls." She is empowering and inspiring to those around her. She kicks ass!" (Thank you, Urban Dictionary). If you consider yourself a Girlboss, I am sharing with you five of the books that have helped me in this blogging journey that I think could help you in yours!

by Aliza Licht

Aliza Licht shares her story and journey as DKNY’s PR Girl, a Twitter account that was able to receive half a million followers and won best Twitter at the Fashion 2.0 awards four years running. Licht is a social media genius and her tips will absolutely step up your online game!

This book has become my business associate in this blogging journey! I go back to it so much for advice for what my next steps are. The book is very detailed and explains very simply how to build a brand and company you will love. Carrie Green seriously means business and she will become the business partner of your dreams.

by Malala Yousafzai

This book helped me mold the person that I am today, the virtues I have and my values. Malala shares her story in such a humble, kind and, at times, humorous way. It was fascinating to hear her journey in Mingora, her passion and admiration for her father and her drive for education. If you let this book in your home, you will be forever leaving her in your heart.

By: Luvvie Ajayi

How can you miss you on the book Shonda Rhimes calls, "A truth-riot of a book!" Yes, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away Shonda Rhimes. This book is incredible, Ajayi's witty humor is evident in every single page. It had me laughing hysterically during my commute to interning this past Spring semester and I was not in the slightest bit ashamed.

By: Shonda Rhimes

Shonda Rhimes wrote it, do I need to say more? The book shares Rhimes' story on saying yes to everything for a year. I was so inspired by this philosophy that I am planning on doing this very soon. The Chicago Tribune said, "can help motivate even the most determined homebody to get out and try something new" and, trust me as a fellow homebody myself, they were right!

  1. Very good site you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any message boards that cover the same topics discussed here? I'd really like to be a part of online community where I can get feed-back from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
