My NYFW Story: How I got the opportunity to attend New York Fashion Week!

Monday, September 12, 2016

A weekend of magic, Frank Sinatra music and fashion. New York Fashion Week took place from Sept. 8-11. I was fortunate enough to attend Fashion Gallery NYFW on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11.

I attended a total of four shows; Michelle Anne + Janelle Funari Children's Collection, Designer's Collective, Jackie Tejada Little Miss Jackie, and prêt-à-porter.

I was lucky enough to have been invited to attend FGNYFW by IN Puerto Rico Magazine to cover Puerto Rican fashion designers' collections on social media (Jackie Tejada and Michelle Anne). IN is a luxury lifestyle magazine, which I interned for during the summer. I was handed a  Press Media Pass and I was over the moon. The pass allowed me to attend the shows that took place in the ballroom.

Stand: This pass meant that I was able to watch the shows but I was not allowed to sit down because the seats are paid for.

So explain this...

A few minutes before the show, a voice will appear through the speakers and will ask the audience to take a seat. If there are seats available, then the standing press will be able to fill them. So, yes it was by pure luck & it was AMAZING. I was so excited to be front row at the Jackie Tejada show and it was absolutely gorgeous.
